Bill was loved by all of us and the shock of his death has not yet sunk in. His presence will be sorely missed and additional words at this time are inadequate to express the grief we all feel.
William “Bill” James Simmons, Jr., 60, of Memphis, Tennessee died on December 26, 2013. A local attorney for many years in East Memphis, Bill was a member of the Memphis & Shelby County Bar Association. He was also an active member in the Bankhead’s Battery & and Sons of Confederate Veterans. Mr. Simmons was born on November 16, 1953 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to William Sr. & Rebecca Reid Simmons. His friends will gather at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Friday, January 10 from five o’clock in the evening until a memorial service begins at seven o’clock that evening. Beside his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Katherine E. Simmons. He survived by a cousin, Billy Ethridge who lives in California and a host of friends and peers here in Memphis.
